I released my debut album in December 2006. Despite my budget constraints J worked hundreds of hours mixing, tweaking, and mastering the project because he believed in my songs and the music I was trying to create. Simply put, J will not put his stamp on a project unless it is as good as it can be. Not only did he devote all his time to perfecting the album, he has also helped me with many things since manufacturing. My success means his success and he has been there for me every step of the way. I can't imagine working with a more talented engineer or, better yet, a cooler more genuine person.

When I came to Franze Music to produce a high quality demo CD for my band, I had never heard of them. It was by pure chance that I got the number and I'm glad I did. We played a battle of the bands in Clifton Park, NY at Northern Lights and a fan and I exchanged numbers. She (the fan) overheard J Franze talking to someone about music in the pet store she worked at and got his number for us.

He walked us through every inch of the record business honestly and clearly. I never felt like we were being taken advantage of, which obviously is on every serious artist's mind. Every question asked was answered and every base was covered.

When we got to recording, there were no time cards and clocks to race. He made sure everyone was comfortable and even offered to have us stay at his place. Every bit of the recording process was available for us to see. There was no secrecy in the mixing or mastering of the album, either. He always made it clear that it was our album and we had creative control.

And it didn't stop there. J did all of the artwork on the album as well. We got him our logo and font and he did the rest. Pictures were taken all over the city of Albany (where we recorded) and we were even supplied with hair and makeup on request for the shoot.

All in all, our disc is a success. It sells very well at our shows and everyone seems to like it, the newspaper's music critic in town gave it positive reviews, and it has worked superbly when we've been searching for new places to play. The professionalism of the CD is what made it worth the money. Other artists have told us they've recorded for less, but - a) they were under the pressure of paying by the hour, b) they didn't receive access to the process like we did, c) and they didn't get 1,000 CDs included in their price.

I'd recommend Franze Music to anyone trying to get off the ground and take that vital first step. We are very happy with everything they've done for us and plan on working with them in the future.
